Tengumai Yamahai-jikomi Junmai-shu - Japanese Sake

This specific bottle of sake was received as a much anticipated, hand delivered gift directly from Japan. The Shata Shuzo brewery is located in Japan in the Ishikawa prefecture (conveniently where I have a friend that comes baring sake gifts) and was founded in 1823, so they have had a few (hundred) years to perfect their recipe. Tengumai means dancing Tengu; drinking this sake defiantly promotes happy feelings, a peaceful mind, and the spark to dance.

The pure rice sake had a strong full flavor at first, but then went down super smooth, with a very mild after taste. Tengumai was not a sweet sake but more on the dry acidic side of the spectrum. It was so delicious! This hand crafted sake comes highly recommended to any drink cynosure.
